Creativity & fashion session in the magnificent valleys of Gatineau Park, Chelsea.

The birth of an idea

Inspiration is a very eccentric variable in my life. Obviously, when I show up for a session, it accompanies me or pops up as I click through the pages. However, sometimes, suddenly, an idea for a project (photography or otherwise) comes to mind and manages to shake my entire being. Sometimes, this vision is as clear as water and other times it takes a little longer to clarify. When such an idea arises, inspiration consumes my senses and my thoughts. It becomes imperative for me to make it a reality as quickly as possible.

My loved ones can attest to this: I can't hide my excitement about getting such a project off the ground, no matter how simple or complex it may be. I'm truly passionate and I give myself over completely to my art. I won't hide it from you, it sometimes makes the people around me dizzy!

From idea to reality

The important thing for me, when I'm looking for muses to embody a project, is that they have an interest in immersing themselves and investing in my idea, of their own accord. This is exactly the case for Alex, friend and model for this photoshoot, who, as soon as he was exposed to the idea, became as passionate as I was about the project. To the point where he practically turned his wardrobe inside out and even dove into a small stream of more or less safe icy water... Supporting photos at the bottom of the article!

Inspired by self-portraits by the talented photographer Riley Joe Libansky (@rileyjoephotography), I wanted to explore various artistic techniques (movements, blur, angles, accessories) in order to achieve a vaporous, ethereal result. My goal was to capture and propose poses different from what we usually see in male models. Breaking the barrier of gender stereotypes to achieve a result that is neither feminine nor masculine, just eclectic. I sought to capture the androgynous beauty that is everywhere and in each of us - if we allow ourselves the vulnerability to seek it out and accept it.

Vogue Trend

If you're active on social media, you may have seen the Vogue trend of posting one of your photos as if it were on the cover of the famous Vogue magazine.

While editing the images, my eye caught on this one. Perhaps it was the simple yet powerful pose, the depth of field, or the choice of clothing. It doesn't matter! I too wanted to try creating a magazine cover for fun, but perhaps also as a kind of visualization of an unspoken dream. Who knows... By constantly bringing ideas to life, could some dreams also become reality?
