Rosalie and David’s wedding was an extraordinary day. From the incredible venue they chose to celebrate, to the impeccable timing of the weather, and the unconditional love of the newlyweds shining through my lens, everything was absolutely perfect.

What can I say about this exceptional place which is one of my favorite venues to photograph weddings in the Outaouais region! It’s truly one of my top picks, both for the breathtaking scenery that creates a unique backdrop for my photos and for the outstanding organization of the team that supports you on your wedding day.

A wedding at the Belvedere in Wakefield guarantees impeccable service. Every detail is thoughtfully planned to make your big day a true reflection of your love. From start to finish, everything can be done right on-site. There are dedicated rooms for the bride and groom to get ready separately, of course, as tradition would have it.

The ceremony takes place outdoors, right where the view is most spectacular. You’ll exchange your vows before a stunning cliffside, overlooking the vast, wooded hills of Gatineau, a panorama so breathtaking it might just leave you speechless (hopefully with just enough breath left to say “I do”!).

The weather

Ah, the ever-famous weather: the number one source of stress for couples! At the Belvedere, that worry simply disappears. If the weather turns, there’s a beautiful indoor space ready to welcome everyone. Believe me, I’m always the first to check the forecast the day before and the morning of your big day. Of course, I always hope for sunshine, but in my experience, unexpected weather often leads to the most unforgettable moments. On Rosalie and David’s wedding day, the forecast wasn’t on our side: heavy rain and thunderstorms were predicted for the entire day.

In the end, everything unfolded perfectly! A few drops fell while the couple was getting ready safely indoors, and the ceremony was still held outside thanks to the incredibly efficient staff who dried the benches in record time. The ceremony and cocktail hour went on without rain, and just as the cocktail ended, a massive storm rolled in—right on cue for the indoor reception. It was perfect for a spectacularly romantic entrance: the dark, stormy atmosphere paired with a sea of candles created a soft, magical glow, with every flicker of flame dancing across the walls.

After the storm, the sun returned, just in time for golden hour. Post-storm skies are always the most breathtaking, adding a unique texture to the horizon. And oh my… how radiant and beautiful they were! Love was truly in the air.

I go on and on about the weather for one reason: to remind you to trust that your big day will be perfect, no matter what. Let go of that stress: it’s something you can’t control anyway. I promise your photos will be stunning, rain or shine!

All in all, Rosalie and David’s wedding at the Belvedere was a true celebration of love and beauty in every form. Between the awe-inspiring venue, the weather that graced us with its own charm, and the glowing connection between the newlyweds, every moment came together like a perfectly imperfect masterpiece. It’s that blend of planning, emotion, and spontaneity that makes each wedding unique—and I had the privilege of capturing it all through my lens!
